The Worthing FWBO group was started by Padmacandra who initially started meditation classes in 2006.
In January 2007 Abhayadeva joined and classes began to be held at the Friends Meeting House in Mill Road in Worthing.
Padmacandra has been a practicing Buddhist for over 20 years and was ordained into the Western Buddhist Order nearly 10 years ago.
She works part time as a social worker, and teaches meditation and Buddhism. She is also a published poet and poetry editor for Urthona, the Buddhst Arts Magazine. In 2006 she edited an anthology of contemporary Buddhist poetry: 'The Heart as Origami' (Rising Fire Press)
Abhayadeva became a Buddhist 25 years ago when he attended his first classes at the Brighton Buddhist Centre.
He was ordained in 1994 at Guhyaloka Retreat Centre in Spain.
After living in Brighton for a number of years Abhayadeva moved to Rivendell Retreat Centre on the edge of Ashdown Forest where he helped administer the retreat programme as well as teaching meditation and Buddhism.
In 2006 he moved to Worthing and currently works in Evolution, a Buddhist right livelihood business in Brighton.
